    I have a 2003 DK 45 with 3,000 hours on it. Looks JUST like this one with water bottle and seat belt under the seat! I love this tractor. Have used/abused it and needed to do some repairs as a result. Nevertheless, it is a true work horse and starts every time. I hated the self-leveling FEL and found a guy to remove it. Now I can pick up a full bucket of material. Mine is stored inside (so no rust) and I change the oil every 75 hours and keep it greased. I highly recommend this tractor.

    You need to build a Cover for it. Also it would be a good idea to burn in the Discs. Just loosen the Clamping Springs enough to where it spins then tighten back down. You can use a little paint can stirrer or measure the length of the Springs compressed before you loosen them. Then tighten them back down where they are compressed to the same length.

    • @TractorGuru
      @TractorGuru 2 роки тому

      I personally have not seen one over 2k hours. But most people with this size of tractor never use them enough to see that many hours. If one is properly maintained I could see one going that long. But there are too many variables to say for sure that one could.

    • @swamp-yankee
      @swamp-yankee 2 роки тому

      @@TractorGuru I've run a Kubota L2850 that belongs to one of my landowners that shows 5k hours on the still functional odometer which they say has rolled over so it likely has 15k. The transmission just went out, and it now needs to be split for it's first rebuild, but it starts at -10 without a block heater, and runs strong. That is the kind of longevity I'm looking for. In my area this size tractor is good for a lot of jobs because of how rolling the land is. People describe landscapes as gently rolling sometimes, but here it's dramatic. It's easy to make a mess and sink into the clay with big machines, and small fields require tight turn radiuses. I know of several sub 45hp tractors in my neighborhood with unknown high hours that still work in the woods or hay fields, but none of them are Kioti's.

      Yes you can. If you look on both sides of the dash going through the floor there are rods with adjusters on them. Those are your brake rods, you should be able to adjust them tighter. Just don’t go too tight or your brakes will drag.

    I'm getting ready to get a brush hog. Been looking from my dealer the bush whacker md 144 & rhino ts 12. The BW is cheaper in price than the Rhino & Beefier. The Rhino if ordered today won't arrive until 2022. I'm leaning toward the BW. I'm just hesitant somewhat. I just want to make sure I get a quality machine. I will be mowing a 25 acre pasture. It is a hay meadow mostly flat and open/Few trees and no ditches. Would you still recommend the Bush Whacker? I know this is a older video somewhat. Thanks in advance for any feedback. Great Video! I subscribed.

    • @TractorGuru
      @TractorGuru 3 роки тому

      The Rhino is a very nice unit, heavy built. But as you said also more expensive. If you are just cutting pasture the BW should work good for your operation. For the price difference alone I would buy the BW. I’m not sure about your dealer support/warranty on each machine but that should be something you consider before pulling the trigger on one or the other. My grandpa has been very happy with this BW and hasn’t had any issues with it that I know of.

    • @TractorGuru

      I would check your glow plug system to make sure it is functioning properly. There should be a relay on the firewall that controls your glow plugs. Could also be your ignition switch possibly. These tractors start really hard when the glow plugs are not functioning. Depends on what area you are in for parts and service. You can get most things easily online now.

    My dad had one of these from 1971 to 1978. His was a 1966 or 67 model. That lever on the side of the console is for adjusting the concave. He taped a bunch of foam carpet padding over the holes in the cab to seal them up. You really didn't need a heater in them with the engine sitting right behind the cab.
